Family Fun Traditions

This tradition started with my grandparents. Around Christmas time they all use to pile up in the car and drive to Wisconsin to pick out a Christmas tree as a family.We are from Iowa along with my grandparents.This tradition still goes on to this day. We don't go anywhere else but Wisconsin to get the pretty trees.

Then we all drive back and put the tree up.While getting out all the ornaments and lights we all sit around the table and read all the old Christmas cards, letters and remember and tell the stories of where all the ornaments came from. We never buy any new ornaments they are all very old and are passed down. When it's time to put up the ornaments we all take turns putting one by one up. After we have done all that.

We will go to my grandparents house and us grand children all gather around in the kitchen making Christmas cookies. Even though we are all adults now. It's just something that's always been done in our family. I love this tradition because it's great family time and to remember all the great memories. Also even though we all live so close we don't always see or talk to one another that often so it's just a great time all the way around. Everyone should have a tradition for Christmas. This tradition is also passed down to my kids.
