Family Thanksgiving
by Adriana
(Maletta)
I remember Thanksgiving when I was a young girl. My grandparents didn't have a large house, so they'd set up picnic tables out in the backyard. This was in California, so it wasn't too cold.
The family would gather and bring out from the kitchen homemade noodles and turkey and okra and dishes that now we'd die for. Today, families are so spread apart. I moved with my family all the way to Georgia where we spent our Thanksgivings with just myself, my husband and three daughters every year with the exception of a few times we went to friends, or they came over.
But thinking back today, what I wouldn't give to have a big dish of my grandmother's noodles at a picnic table with all the family, most now gone, there together again.
