"Ame'lie" A popular French film

by John Niemark
(New Mexico)

Here I would like to share with you some of my favorite family movies. I like to watch films with my wife especially. Sometimes my son also joins us.

The name which comes to me first is: Ame'lie. It is a popular French film. Information about the Film: 2001 / France / comedy, romance. I liked the film for Audrey Tautou’s role as a young Parisian girl, film’s smart and romantic story telling, and simplicity.

Then I must mention the name: The Matrix. Information about the Film: 1999/ USA/ science fiction. It is a film which could be enjoyed by viewers of all ages. Everything from the theory of the world, superb action, visual effect, philosophy and technique.

Another film is Terminator 2. Information about the film: 1991 / USA/ science fiction. You should you see this film for stunning visual effects, future-theory, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and action. Your kids are also going to enjoy this film a lot.

Shakespeare in Love is the other film which I enjoyed very much with my loved ones. This film was a 1998/ USA/ Romance. The film is moving as well as poetic. The main attractions of this film is the theme of love, Shakespeare’s poetry and Gwyneth Paltrow blend together very well..

Another great movie was "The Pianist" Although the film is based upon war I have never seen anything more humane than this. This was shot in 2002 in France and Germany. A wonderfully created Drama. You should see this film for Polanski’s heart rendering story, Adrien Brody’s performance, and the sadness of war.

Yes, I enjoyed the film very much and of course I always love French movies especially Ame'lie even though it was shot in 2001 which does date it a little as movies aren't really made that way anymore.

There's a big difference in movies shot in the year 2000 and 2010, the bar has been raised. Check out Avatar and you'll see what I mean even though it had a crappy storyline.

I wouldn't give this movie five stars but I think four would be okay in my opinion.
