"Babe" A story about a pig who is different

by Simone Hellinger
(Alabama)

A great family movie actually leaves you feeling moved. Your heart is full you feel transported and part of the story. You root for the characters.

The first movie my family fell in love with was Babe. A story about a pig who is much different from any other farm animal. In the end he is loved and praised and encouraged for being brave and different.

My daughter has a love for all movies by Hayao Miyazaki. The first was Castle in The Sky then Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service. These movies captivate you totally and take you on a journey. She likes them most because the girl always saves the day and the colors and animation are so rich you don't want to miss a minute of it.

My son loves movies based on the books he has read. We have read and seen all the Harry Potter series. When we left the theater after seeing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince he said, "That was awesome!" We had to see Inkheart, Eragon, The Golden Compass and Stardust. All these stores have one thing in common. A young person being faced with overwhelming odds and overcoming them with a lot of action and adventure.

The last family movie we saw was Up. It was one everyone enjoyed start to finish. There was action and adventure, the animation was just beautiful, it was funny and heartwarming. What I like best about family movies is that when my children can't agree on a movie mostly due to age differences but we can always count on enjoying a great family film.
